Engagement

Reach to Teach's frameworks for community engagement are aimed at enhancing both school and parent accountability for student progress and positively influencing student learning outcomes. It is a cross-cutting function that is critical in driving school improvement. We engage and work with community stakeholders including parents, School Management Committees, and other community influencers in the following ways:

Parental Engagement

Providing technical advice and support to the state for designing, planning, and implementing parental engagement interventions at the state level, drawing on our decade-long experience in this area.
Supporting the state to build the capacities of system officials like Cluster Resource Coordinators, to provide adequate support to schools in implementing parental engagement initiatives.
We are currently designing a Parental Engagement Framework which could be rolled out at scale, across states.

School Management Committee
(SMC) Support Programme

The focus of Reach to Teach's support in this area is to energise and capacitate SMCs to actively participate in the school functioning and to build a strong partnership with the school to improve the quality of education in their respective communities.

Where
we work

Over the past ten years, Reach to Teach has developed bespoke strategies and interventions for effective engagement and ownership of parents, SMCs and other community stakeholders in early learning, which are currently being replicated at scale by the Government of Gujarat to improve enrolment, attendance, transition, and retention.
